General Introduction

Granite is a type of rock transformation from the composition of earth magma and silica minerals. Main properties of granite are durability, hardness, better abrasion resistance and relatively high resistance to both acid and alkali attacks, non- magnetic and non-conductor of electricity. Granite normally appears in grey color but there are also red, green, white and black granite stone available.

This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite however in the area of application of the European Standard (EN) this stone must be nominated as gabbro. A fine-grained, intensive black gabbro. Gabbro: Gabbro is a dark, coarse-grained, intrusive igneous rock chemically equivalent to basalt. It is a plutonic rock, formed when molten magma is trapped beneath the Earth's surface and cools into a crystalline mass.
